Winter Walk 2017: Food Trucks, Craft Beer, Music and More.

Winter Walk is back for its 3rd year!❄ A holiday pop-up full of local deliciousness running through the entire month of December on Stockton Street between Geary and Ellis. If you happen to be around the Union Square area, this is a good spot to check out some of San Francisco’s food trucks/carts.

Beneath the astro turf is a subway construction that has been going on for a few years now and they cover it up during the construction break. I think this pop-up is a great idea for the holidays as Union Square is a tourist destination and it’s nice to have local goodies nearby that they can check out, and experience a bit of the quintessential San Franciscan activity. We love our food trucks and the uniqueness of each gastronomic delight!

Both Bonito Poke and Capelo’s Barbecue were really good. The tuna poke was fresh and the pork ribs had me imagine what it must be like in Texas. Side note: owner of Capelo’s grew up in Texas and I think his passion for barbecue is all over those ribs. LOL…

Gianduia and Pistachio from Coletta Gelato Cart

Gelato: 10/10 Bicycle Cart: 11/10 😍😍😍

Founders: SUPER COOL GUYS 🍦😅

John and I shared a cup of Gianduia (chocolate with hazelnut and some surprise crunchy bits) and Pistachio💯 from Coletta Gelato‘s cute bicycle cart which they call the Coletta Cruiser. It sure was a good way to start the end of a work day… The South Block side has outdoor easy chairs that invite you to put your feet up on the cute little ottomans that light up. Yes, they light up. Holiday feels, check!

Off the Grid is one of the food organizations that hosts several markets we love going to in the city such as this month’s Winter Walk. They have several markets you can find with more food truck/cart options but if you already plan on going to the downtown/Union Square area, I do recommend a visit to this pop-up. *yay*

💛 Erica

PS: Winter Walk ends on 12/31
